About
Penny Lewis

Penny Lewis has spent years travelling the globe, cooking for dignitaries, celebrities and royalty.  These experiences have equipped Penny  with extensive knowledge, expertise and a love of cooking that resonates in the delectable dishes she creates.

Her culinary journey began close to home when her daughter became a vegetarian at age 11. Determined to cook well for her family, she taught herself the foundations of British cookery, eventually working in the kitchens of country houses. From there, her reputation flourished.

Penny's journey took her to the grand kitchens of Britain's stately homes, cooking for Lords, Ladies, Dukes, and Earls. Penny has also catered for private dinners hosted by HM The Queen and HRH The Duke of Edinburgh.

Her expertise is regularly called upon by members of the British aristocracy, including Lady Elizabeth Anson, cousin to Queen Elizabeth II, who relied on Penny’s elegant yet effortless style when entertaining royalty and notable guests.

I would like to nominate Penny Lewis of the Culinary Cottage for the best cookery school award. I have attended several courses with her in her delightful school and have been encouraged by Penny to try skills which I thought way beyond my capability.

Her teaching and guidance is excellent in that she is friendly but very constructive and encouraging! Penny has not only succeeded in making me a better and more enthusiastic cook but she has changed the way I feel about feeding my family and my approach to food.
